But thousands more are waiting to come home. 

“The situation in India is challenging,” the Minister said. “I know about the situation in every state.” Champagne told Brampton residents there are plans to bring Canadians home from India every other day, a practice that will continue for up to three weeks.


The lockdown in India continues and thousands of Canadians are still stuck there during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says his government is working tirelessly to bring them home. But the flights, for those willing to take one, are not cheap. Meanwhile, the virus might be spreading out of control among many of India's 1.4 billion people.
