Joel’s Journal - Entry #109 - 2/17/2017
I’ve started and re-started this journal many times now. There’s a lot on my mind and a lot I could write about regarding the next few months. I continue to find myself looking over the next 90 days or so like a general analyzing battle plans, but I just can’t seem to find the key moments. However, I don’t really want to write about that, and call me naive, call me ignorant, whatever, but I truly believe that whatever happens, everything will work out. I think that if you keep a positive mindset and keep those gears spinning and keep working hard, the universe will eventually start to turn in your direction and work with you.
Anyways, let’s talk about this weekend. I’ve got a couple days off and I’m torn about what I’m going to spend it doing.
On the one hand, I want to get outside, I want to do something. Whether that’s drive somewhere, explore something, hike something, I don’t know, I just have this urge to get outside and DO something. On the other hand, there’s a lot of desk work that needs to be done. The manuscript has been sitting stagnant for a couple weeks, there’s budgeting that should be done, plans that should be ironed out and posts that could be written, freelance pitches to be made, and the list goes on.
However, that doesn’t make for very exciting vlogging, so I think I need to find a compromise.
As much as I’d like to pack up and drive to Algonquin or something for the day, just COMPLETELY get away, I don’t think I can pull that off.
There’s got to be something though. This week has just been completely mundane. It’s not like it’s been boring, especially after the heavy and depressing start it had. Yet there hasn’t been anything to get the adventure and adrenaline-craving parts of me pumping. I feel like I need something like that.
M is at work today, so I’ve got most of the day before she comes over. I think I need to get to work. On what? I guess we’ll find out.
This weekend, make sure you’re doing what you love and doing it well.
Thanks for reading!
