We now return to your regularly scheduled journal cover. I snapped this one a couple days ago during my morning off down at the Oshawa Creek. Apparently it's a pretty popular spot for people to fish for steelheads.

Joel’s Journal - Entry #145 - 3/24/2017

Happy Saturday everyone! And thank you SO MUCH for coming to check out my blog on one of your blessed days off from work. If you’re living anywhere in the GTA I imagine you’re doing much of the same as I am, hiding away indoors from the spring rain that is soaking this end of the province right now.

However, I have something that’s going to brighten your day! Well, perhaps not yours, but it’s definitely brightening mine and will LITERALLY be brightening (and warming) my days in less than two weeks.

That’s right, I’ve secured some time off from the newspaper and M and I are taking our first road trip of 2017!

The majority of the trip will be spent in Florida, but we’re also checking out a couple big cities along the way (Washington and Charleston) and will be leaving two Fridays from now.

I will have more details in the coming days as M and I iron out our itinerary and figure out more about what we’re going to be doing. I can tell you though that we’ll be visiting the Everglades while we’re down in Florida. And we’ll  (hopefully) be going to Universal Studios because, well, Harry Potter World!

With that said, I’m hoping to get some seriously awesome photos along the way. I remember my last trip to Florida and the Everglades was definitely the highlight with the collection of crocs and birds. At that time, I was only using a tiny little point and shoot camera. I think with my Nikon and my zoom lens I’ll be able to secure some much better shots this time around.

I’ve already got that burning excitement in my stomach, the same sort of feeling I got before M and I went to Montreal. This trip is going to be that weekend on steroids.

In other words, it’s going to be epic.

More to come.

In the meantime, keep doing what you love and doing it well.

And thanks for reading!
