Good morning, and Happy Friday!

I hope everyone’s Thursday was as good as mine yesterday. It was crazy busy, but as I’ve written about before, I thrive on busy days.

I woke up in the morning, dreading it. As much as I tell myself it’s going to be good and I know I’ll feel better after it’s over, just like a good workout, I never feel that way when I wake up.  Crawling out from beneath the warmth of the sheets is a bitch, and it’s like there’s a magnetic pull between my eyelids and my pillow, the further I get away the hard it is to keep them open.

I push through though and after a quick shower and breakfast, I skirted down the fire escape and headed for the office. Covering a trio of events yesterday, I wanted to make sure I got myself organized before heading out for the day.

An interview at the health clinic regarding some new health legislation, was followed by a meeting with a pair of police officers to talk about the new street check (carding) rules, followed by a funding announcement at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology.

By the end of it, I was so topped up that I spent the rest of the day in the office transcribing all the interviews and uploading the photos from the days events.

I’m not sure what it is about the busy days, but I always know to take advantage. I think, it takes a lot to get things up to full speed, but once my brain is roaring along, it’s a lot harder to slow it down. Regardless, it’s an awesome feeling. I spent the last few hours of the day with M, which is probably a good thing as a couple hours curled up in front of the TV was pretty much the perfect thing to settle me down. All in all, it was a great day, and now it’s Friday, so that’s even better.

Today will be much quieter I expect, Fridays are usually writing days in the office, so, the real fun part.

It’s still early so I’m going to spend the rest of the time before the office editing my novel manuscript. After my Summer of Short Stories, it’s taking me a little bit of time to climb back into the plotlines and the bodies of the characters I was working on before. So, I’m giving the nearly 200 pages a quick read through to refresh myself before diving back in.

I’m hoping to wrap up that process in the next week or so. I’ll keep you all posted.

Thanks for reading, and have a great weekend.
