Novel Word Count
Read, Write, Rinse, Repeat
Good morning, good day, let’s write some words.
So many reports and so little time.
This journal may seem a bit like a broken record but it’s just how these last few days have been going. I should have been prepared for this and perhaps thought of something more interesting to write about, but I guess this is the point of these entries. It’s kind of an, “it is what it is” type of situation.
If all I did today was sit in the office for the largest chunk of the day reading lengthy city of Oshawa reports dealing with everything from downtown parking and land contamination to real estate audits, I guess that’s what’s going into my journal.
I really want this to be an accurate depiction of my daily life, because I think not only will it show my progress, but in a few years from now, it will be awesome to investigate back and see how I well I was managing life at that point.
As I said yesterday, today was my only day without any meetings, so I could spend it researching and reading all those reports that will be coming to the council floor in the coming days for discussion
When 5 p.m. rolled around I left the office and headed up to M’s place for dinner. I could feel the screen time still glowing behind my eyes, like a fluorescent bulb had been turned on inside my head and was burning bright.
Immediately when I arrived, M put me to work chopping onions, mushrooms and garlic to form the base sauce for an eggplant lasagna. It turned out just excellent.
When we were finished, I had to spend another couple hours with my laptop as I hadn’t finished all the reports that needed reading. Yeah, you read that right, probably 6 hours of reading in the office and now an additional two.
It takes a lot for me to get fed up with seeing words, but I can definitely say today pushed me close to the edge.
I’m going to go and sleep it off now.
Thanks for reading,
