Cute cat right?
Today, I got to visit the Oshawa Animal Services shelter to write about their cat adoption blitz going on right now. Want a cat? Go check out this link. Only $75!
Anyway, onto our regularly scheduled writing.
In Volume 1 of this journal, I wrote a post called “A Day to Remember Why I Do This” I wrote about how impactful it had been for me writing every single day on the Internet.
And not only did I get to use the name of my favourite band in the title of a blog entry, it landed me in the top three Google searches right alongside their picture.
Anyway, I bring that entry back up to simply remind myself, and perhaps those of you out there who are having trouble pushing through your creative ruts.
I point a particular part of that entry.
“ However, none of that compares to the progress I’ve made ever since I started daily posting. It took me nearly five years to get my first 50 posts. Now, in six months, Ive created nearly 200.
200 stories whether they be boring or mundane or sweet and lovely like all the times I write about M (those entries are highlights for me), and I’ve documented trips and troubles and successes and just life in general.
I said this right when I started out, that my goal was to essentially document my life in order to create something to look back on when I’m older.”
These last few weeks I find myself thinking way too much about these posts, as I’ve done in the past. It’s a hard habit to shake. However, each time it happens, it’s just a matter of standing up and getting back on the horse.
So, that’s exactly what I’m doing.
It’s not like I have much of a choice. Pretty much every hour of the day I’m either writing, or thinking about writing. Lately, I’ve been doing a lot more thinking than actually writing when it comes to this, but let’s forget about that.
There’s been some big life shifts in the recent past, things that I’m not QUITE ready to discuss here, but all of you will know soon enough.
In the meantime, know that I’m super pumped about sharing my latest project with all of you, and I’m hoping to have some new fiction available shortly.
For now, thank you so much for your constant support, and as always, thanks for reading.
P.S. Is there some kind of writing question you have? About my process? About reporting? About anything? Let me know in the comments and I’d be happy to answer!
Oh….and here’s some more cats from yesterday. I know how much the Internet loves cats. 👍
